The public announcement of the third edition of the Modern Gospel Music Awards, which has begun with nominations available to the general public, has gospel music artists in Ghana and elsewhere excited. Nominations are accepted beginning on April 1 and must be received by May 1, 2023, with the awards being in 32 categories.
This means that anyone with the appropriate music that suits the designated categories can submit a nomination for an award, both locally and globally.
The Modern Gospel Music Awards is an award scheme that projects, recognizes, and celebrates the works and achievements of Gospel Music Artists who have dedicated their voice to impacting society positively and embedding Christian values into the lives of people, at home and abroad.
With this year’s nomination categories opened to the general public; a new space has been added named: The Cross-Breed Category. This category is best for songs that may not be specifically gospel music but has its lyrics enshrined with words of great motivation and inspiration with no trace of profanity or foul language.
The Modern Gospel Music Awards, which had its debut in 2021, has had a significant impact on the development and celebration of gospel music artists in Ghana and around the world and has experienced tremendous growth over time.
Legendary musicians like Mama Helena Rhabbles, Elder Sam Cooper, Noble Nketsiah, Nana Yaw Asare, Prof. Kofi Abraham, and other outstanding figures in the media, the arts, and gospel outreach are just a few of the many well-known names that have received awards under the program.
Other personalities that have passed through the event are Kofi Adoma Nwanwani (CEO OF KOFI TV) & Mrs. Starcy Amoateng (Host of Restoration Tv Show).
