There was always something suspicious about how among all the girls in the school, she preferred those three. I am not suggesting they were good people to be liked but their behavior wasn’t school-friendly yet she liked them. They spent a lot of time with her but usually not in the open. It was until she asked me to teach them that their time together reduced drastically. Fair to say she dumped them on me and moved on. Just like me, Madam Faustina would never in a lifetime be thought of as extremely sexual, corrupt and inappropriate. She looked and acted as an Angel. I understood then the popular saying “the devil you know is better than the Angel you don’t know”. My days in final year taught me a lot. When Lordina was sharing her encounter and that of the girls with Madam with me, she nearly broke down in tears. As resilient as always she kept her cool, paused within sentences to allow her calm down. I had a tip of the iceberg experience so it was relatable.
“Saint…. We suffered. Our innocence was explored but…” She paused again. “We were just some first year students… Enthusiastic about life… We wanted to explore town. Sincerely, we had no hidden intentions or whatsoever. On one of our regular ‘outing’ we met madam Faustina. We didn’t know the various clubs and what they do but we knew the names because they were popular among students… ” She took a breather sat properly and gave an indication that the story just began. “We knew madam so well because when we came, she was among the few who oriented us on courtesy. She was outstanding because of her charisma and her peculiar beauty. So when we met her, we tried to hide but somehow, she knew us so she took time off the party and located us. The club was interestingly a lesbian club so she probably thought we were there because we were one. In fact, she insisted we were. That was the only way she could blackmail us. Society frowned upon such relationships and knowing that when it’s made public, we could either be mobbed or sacked from the school, she took advantage of it…” It was at this point that I realized the kind of person she was. She puts you in uncomfortable situations and takes advantage of you. No wonder Lordina tried to warn me earlier.
She went on to tell me how they have been her object of satisfaction for 2 years. She occasionally took them to town in her car’s boot just to escape security. She revealed secrets that kept my mouth opened for the whole day. I wasn’t only surprised but I was disappointed in her. I had no option but to tell her about my situation. Contrary to what I thought, she wasn’t mad, she told me she probably put her niece to it after realizing we had a connection. “That woman always wants to get dirt on you first before she jumps in to reap the fruits of someone’s labor.” she explained. What wasn’t clear to me was whether she was a lesbian or not but I vowed not to have anything to do with her. I called off my scholarship opportunity, avoided all her classes and she pulled the last card. She reported me to the headmaster about the incident. This was months after so I knew I could deny everything. In fact, that was exactly what I did. I vehemently denied having an idea about what she was alleging. Luckily for me, Gifty didn’t come forward and in addition to that, she wasn’t a student so my affair with her wasn’t substantial. She was spent on disgracing me but after I told the committee she was dragging my name in the mud because of the case they were sitting on, they sanctioned her. I never knew I had that spirit of resilience in me. I stood my ground and played dirty with her. I even wanted the girls to come forward but they were reluctant. Lordina promised that she would, but after her final exams. For me, I was concerned about how she might have probably done this to hundreds of students robbing them of their innocence and introducing them to vices they would otherwise not do.
When Prudence heard of all the allegations and ‘secrets’, she told me she needed nothing to do with me again. She was soo disappointed to the extent that when she saw me coming her way, she would take the other route. It was so until I completed and went to the University. As the saying goes, the evil men do will definitely live after them. Guess what happened to madam while we were in the university? Oh, lest I forget, Lordina and I went to the same University. Life at the university was a whole world on its own…. (Story Continues)
