I wasn’t worried because I was naive to think that touching someone with the virus could get me infected. I knew all the possible scenarios under which I could contract the disease and I knew my chances. Lordina was surprised because she was not previewed to the whole truth. Yes, the extent I went with Madam Faustina was just romance, which didn’t actually go to the extent of any blood exchange but there were other factors in play. AIDS is the advanced level of the immune virus which means that she might have actually been with the virus for a very long time. That will definitely make the virus dangerous and volatile. In fact, I knew the science of the virus to the extent that after hearing about it, I went back to read more.
After our final exams(WASSCE) I had Gifty’s number from an old friend. So even though we were apart, we were still in a very good talking term. She spoke extensively about how her Aunty treated her, how she was used, and probably why she was very angry after seeing us. Not to bore you with the details, she was used as her sex toy. She kissed her when she felt like, went to bed with her anytime she felt like, among others. Gifty made me understand that she wasn’t actually a lesbian but she was extremely adventurous and could occasionally try threesome with random guys and cut them off the radar. At the time, it never occurred to me she might be intentionally distributing the virus. “If so, why didn’t she let me have sex with her? Was she protecting me?” I asked myself. Everything was just strange, sad, and heartbreaking.
I had wanted to call Gifty and verify if she knew all these but I wasn’t just sure how it would go down. Instead of just asking over the phone, I travelled to Accra to meet her. She was so eager to meet me so I knew it’s either she hadn’t heard the news or she thought she was safe. When I met Gifty, she was looking her sexy self. She was in a very short and appealing skirt. Instead of discussing why I was there, my eyes were focused on her boobs and her thighs. She was prettier than before especially with her hair done.
“When last did you hear from your Aunty?” I asked after we’ve exchanged pleasantries and other minor chit-chat. “You traveled all the way down here to ask me about my aunty? Do you have any unfinished business with her?” She asked while sipping her drink. Her lips alone were making me confused so I had to be focused on my drink in order to keep my head straight. “She isn’t the reason why I am here…. You know I really miss you. I want us to have fun but I just wanted to ask about our common enemy.” I said it in a very funny way and we both laughed over it. “Well, the last time I checked, she wasn’t in the country. She had an issue at work and since then, she hardly talks to family. But I heard she was seriously sick…” She said and my fear was renewed. Surprisingly, she looked so calm and unconcerned. “Which sickness tho?” I asked. “I really don’t know… Please enough of her… Where are you spending the night?” She was obviously in hurry to put my back on the ground. She unfortunately had no idea about what was going on. I wanted to spoil the party by telling her the truth but I held on. I allowed her to enjoy the moment. When we were alone, she tried kissing but I gave her a peg instead. Even though I had a feeling I already have the virus, there were doubts as well. It was better to protect that than risk it.
We spent almost the whole day together. Sincerely, I missed her, seeing her was a delight and if not because of the situation on the ground, I would have probably brought her pants down like a hundred times already. We spent the day ‘window shopping’, visiting places and I was careful not to be left alone with her. She always wanted ‘Uber’ where we could be alone at the back seat but I was always taking ‘trotro’. In order to avoid sleeping with her, I left to Kumasi the same day. On my way, I texted her with the facts and asked her to check or verify…. (Story Continues)
