GES Warns Schools Not To Sack Students Because They Can’t Provide Items In Prospectus

Head of Public Relations Unit at GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, has made statements saying no circumstance should any student be sacked from school if he or she could not provide some items in the school prospectus.

Parents in some schools feel that the administration is taking advantage of them by directing them to buy these items directly from the school. And several parents occasionally express their dissatisfaction on radio and television stations, social media, and other channels.

The items inn the prospectus alone at the majority of Ghanaian senior high schools costs between GHC 1500 and GHC 2000. This has been a headache for some parents.

Cassandra Twum, speaking on Kessben FM, issued what appears to be a strong warning to schools that have been sacking students because they are unable to provide some of the items on the prospectus list.

She stressed that under no circumstances should students be asked to go home because they could not provide these items in their prospectus.
